Comedy Stage

August 06 2010
Kansas City Irish Fest is proud to welcome three of Ireland's very best comic talents, Dylan Moran, Ian Coppinger and Barry Murphy. They’ll perform on Saturday and Sunday nights, 8 p.m., in Crown Center's Off Center Theater. Tickets are only $5. Purchase tickets here

Dylan Moran, one of Ireland's–and Europe's–most prolific and successful comics, is making a rare trip to America for this show. Moran has appeared in the films Notting Hill, Shaun Of The Dead, and Run, Fat Boy, Run and starred in the award winning sitcom Black Books. (Photo of Dylan Moran)

Ian Coppinger is a regular on the world comedy circuit having played to packed houses at the Edinburgh, Melbourne, Montreal Just for Laughs, Galway, Electric Picnic, Glasgow, Dublin, Adelaide and Wellington comedy festivals. One of the best improvisers in the world, he co-founded The Dublin Comedy Improv, where he still performs every Monday night. Ian is also a regular guest with the world famous Comedy Store Players performing alongside Paul Merton, Richard Vranch, Josie Lawrence and many members of Whose Line Is It Anyway?

Barry Murphy is often remembered for the six years he spent as a member of the cult comedy trio, Mr Trellis, with Kevin Gildea and Ardal O Hanlon. He is the co-founder of the Comedy Cellar - Ireland's longest running comedy venue, and is easily recognized as one of the "ten kings of Irish Comedy over the last 20 years" (Hot Press Magazine).

Modeled after Merrion Square in Dublin, the first annual Art in the Park will include artisans showcased in the beautiful tree-lined Washington Park, adjacent to Crown Center Square. This year, KC Irish Fest corresponds with First Fridays – the first Friday of each month when the neighboring Crossroads Art District hosts the one of the nation’s largest art crawls.

New for 2010: NEW Stage

April 06 2010
Located in the grass and shade of the western side of Washington Square Park, our new stage will provide us with the perfect place to present smaller, more intimate acoustic acts in a kind of cozy bistro setting. This will be our 6th performance stage, and 7th stage including Comedy. Shady and cool, this new stage is going to be a place you'll want to spend a good chunk of your Irish Fest weekend.
