Volunteer Opportunities

Please review the following area descriptions and check all areas you have interest in volunteering for. All positions will be assigned on a first come first serve basis.

We’re looking for a volunteers each shift to help us in the Genealogy/Heritage Area. This person would be interested in genealogy and are familiar with www.ancestry.com OR are computer competent. They’ll be helping people search for their ancestors

This role includes walking the festival grounds and asking festival attendees about demographic information. You will have the freedom to move around the entire grounds or stand at the entrances and catch people on their way in. When you check-in for this shift, you will receive all the details about the survey.

This role includes selling the CDs of the bands that will be performing, including working with money and credit machines as well as watching over the merchandise to ensure there is no theft. Many of the bands will come down after their show and sign autographs so this may include a little crowd control as well.

Volunteers for the Beverage committee must be 18 or over and able to lift at least 40 lbs, while moving cases of soda and water and bags of ice. Beverage volunteers should be able and willing to drive a gator (golf cart-like vehicle). This job can be hot, dirty and sweaty, though in your "downtime" your staging area is shady and breezy! And it's a great work out! Note: we have special need of volunteers on Friday August 29th as early as 10:00 AM for set up and Sunday night August 31st starting at 9:00 PM for tear down.

When you check-in for this shift, you will receive all the details of the raffle prizes, a pouch for money, and cash to make change with.

Volunteers with the new recycling committee will be responsible for the "greening" of Irish Fest. You'll help maintain our many recycling barrels and educate our patrons as to what can and can't go in the bins. There may be some lifting involved.

Volunteers needed for the Sunday Mass, include greeters, readers, ushers, Eucharistic ministers, and people to assist in set up and tear down. NOTE: standard volunteer shifts do not apply to Mass volunteers. Set up will begin at 7:30 AM, tear down and clean up will be completed by 11:00 AM.

This role includes assisting children with various activities in the children?s area, including helping them with the Pen Pal stations, selling t-shirts, supervising the story telling section, and monitoring the inflatable areas.

This role includes selling various festival merchandise, counting/taking money for purchases, watching merchandise to avoid theft, and answering possible questions about the items.

This role includes assisting with volunteer interactions; check in, hospitality tent etc. (Please expect these shifts to begin 30-45 minutes prior than the normal shift times to help prepare for volunteer check in)

Volunteers on this committee act as Irish Fest hosts, welcoming guests, assisting with handicapped access, helping people get strollers up and down stairs, and directing guests to the various stages and venues. Site hosts should be energetic, friendly and helpful.

These volunteers will assist in setting up and tearing down the Festival. These volunteers would ideally be available on the Thursday before and the Monday after Irish Fest, as well as immediately after closing on Sunday night. Some lifting and use of tools may be required.
